Day 1:
PENANG
Upon your arrival in Penang, transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day will be free for you to explore the city.
Day 2:
PENANG (B)
At 9.30am, we will start our full day tour of Penang. The visit includes: Kek Lok Si Temple, Botanical Gardens, Batik Factory, Thai Temple of the Reclining Buddha, the Burmese Temple, the colonial district around Esplanade area, Khoo Kongsi, a beautiful Chinese Clan House and a walking tour to Armenian Street to observe the modern murals. At the end of our tour, we will return to the hotel. Lunch is not included.
Day 3:
PENANG (B)
At 9.00am, we will start our tour with a visit to the Tropical Spice Garden (approximately 30 minutes from Georgetown). It hosts over 500 varieties of exotic flora (with an emphasis on spices) spread over eight acres of secondary jungle. Afterwards, we will continue to Entopia by Penang Butterfly Farm, one of the largest butterfly garden in Malaysia with approximately 15,000 free-flying butterflies at any one time consisting of up to 60 species. The last stop of the day will be the Pinang Peranakan Mansion, a museum dedicated to the Peranakan heritage in Georgetown.
Day 4:
PENANG / BELUM RAINFOREST (B/L/D)
At 9.00am, we will take the road to the Bujang Valley, a historical complex which is the most relevant archaeological site of the Hindu-Buddhist polity of Malaysia between 700-1300 A.D. We will also visit the Lembah Bujang Archaeological Museum. A light packed lunch is included during the excursion. Around 2.00pm, we will continue the journey to Belum Rainforest Reserve, located near the border with Thailand. Upon arrival (about three hours from Bujang Valley), check-in to the nature lodge of Belum. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 5:
BELUM RAINFOREST (B/L/D)
At 9.00am, we will take the boat to the starting point of the trekking that will take us to the Orang Asli settlement and the salt lick at Jenut Papan. With a bit of luck, we will see the Rafflesia, the biggest flower in the world. A light packed lunch is included during the excursion at Sungai Ruok Waterfall. We'll return to the resort in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.
*Note: the sighting of Rafflesia is not guaranteed. It is subject to flower blooming.
Day 6:
BELUM RAINFOREST (B)
The morning will be free to explore the area. The departure transfer to Penang International Airport will be provided according to the flight details. The guide is not included.
