A Georgian farmhouse in the Kildare countryside, Moate Lodge near Athy provides individually designed rooms and a full breakfast menu. This dog-friendly guest house is around 1 hour’s drive from Dublin and offers free parking and Wi-Fi.
Each guest room has a TV, hairdryer and tea and coffee facilities, with views of the courtyard, orchard or gardens. A private bathroom has a bath or shower and complimentary toiletries.
Moate Lodge serves a full Irish breakfast, as well as cereals and fresh fruit. Savoury and fruit-filled pancakes and omelettes are also on the menu, which uses organic farm produce and free-range eggs. You can also enjoy home-baked scones and jam in the drawing room.
Dogs are welcomed, and will need to be mentioned when booking. There are extensive gardens and countryside nearby for your dog to enjoy.
The market town of Athy lies around 8 minutes’ drive from Newbridge, a larger town which is home to the Whitewater Shopping Centre. The Japanese Gardens and the Curragh Racecourse are among other Kildare attractions within 25 minutes of Moate Lodge.
