The Uluwatu Temple (also called ‘Pura Luhur Uluwatu’ by the locals) translates to ‘something of divine origin’ and is one of the most important religious temples in Bali. It is renowned for its magnificent location, perched atop a steep cliff roughly 70 meters above the sea.

The temple is surrounded by a lush forest filled with rambunctious monkeys. If you’d like to catch the breathtaking sunset views and witness the Kecak Fire Dance (a traditional Balinese dance performance), it is recommended that you join the last slot at 5 pm.

“The weather was wonderful (not too sunny)! The views are amazing, and the encounter with monkeys was also a charming experience, though we were holding our belongings tightly. Totally recommend this trip!” – Alexandra, Norway
