To the south of Bucharest, there is a very popular location for the inhabitants of the capital: Comana. On this half-day trip, you will visit the Comana Monastery, built by Vlad Tepes, the Romanian ruler who inspired the character of Count Dracula. Later you will explore the Comana forest and the Neajlov delta, a wild place with rich fauna and flora.

Your guide will pick you up from the hotel in Bucharest and after a maximum of one hour, you will stop at the gate of the Comana monastery. Comana Monastery was founded by Vlad Tepes as a fortress-monastery as protection against the Turk's attack coming from the south of the Danube. Vlad Tepes is perhaps the most famous Romanian leader, inspiring Bram Stoker in writing the novel Dracula.

Although the Snagov Monastery in the north of Bucharest is considered to be the site of Vlad Tepes' tomb, some legends claim that it is possible that Tepes was buried here in Comana. During the visit, you will be able to see the church inside the monastery and the small mausoleum dedicated to the Romanian soldiers who fell in the First World War.

After the monastery, it is time to discover the impressive nature of this place. A walk through the Comana Natural Park is an excellent opportunity to meet the various birds that live here (swans, cormorants, ducks, etc.) and enjoy the well-preserved nature of the area.

Your trip to Comana ends with a walk through the forest to the Walnut Fountain and the ornithological observatory. From there you can admire the delta in all its splendour.

When you return, the guide will drop you off at your hotel in Bucharest or another place of your choice.
