Detalles del programa

Did you know that the Port of Amsterdam is the world’s largest gasoline and cocoa port?

As the largest petrol port in the world and with more than 600,000 tons of cocoa beans finding their way to the city every year, Amsterdam is a leading player in these unique markets. How being small can lead to worldwide exchange! The tour takes you to places that are only accessible for commercial shipping. We will pass the cocoa warehouses, where cocoa for the tastiest chocolate like Verkade, Droste and Tony Chocolonely is stored and transshipped. And amongst other unique inside views we for example will pass a car terminal which processes 200,000 cars per year. Besides all of this you will discover how the port transforms into a circular hub. Inside information that only the professionals know, will be shared.

After we have cast off the mooring lines, we are directly on the ‘IJ’. Here we sail between the large cargo ships and perhaps a passing giant cruise ship. During the two hour Amsterdam Port Tour we will look at the port in its current form, but we will also look ahead to the time when the Port will operate fossil-free and sustainable. Here we will show you the "circular Port" and you will hear more about recent and future developments in the field of energy transition.

In good weather you can enjoy the panoramic deck of the ship, where you have an unobstructed view at the world’s largest cocoa and petrol port. In bad weather you have the comfort of the ship's luxurious interior, where the catering is also located.
