Visit scenic Taroko National Park, home to an array of wildlife and covering a wide range of topographies.
Gaze into Taroko Gorge, a deep marble-walled chasm, at the river running far below, or stroll in scenic trails. Check out nesting swallows and beautiful river views at Swallow Grotto, pause at the Eternal Spring Shrine to take some snaps and get great views of the coast and mountains at Chi Hsing Beach (Qixing Beach).
Those with a penchant for stonework won't be disappointed either with visits to the Marble Factory and Hualien Stone Sculpture Park, where you'll learn the ins and outs of the traditional art of stone carving.
