In winter, Mainz is as charming and lively as ever! Join us for a walk through the large Christmas market in front of the cathedral and passing some of the smaller but cozy Mainz WinterZeit markets nearby. Here at the capital of the Rhineland-Palatinate, you will be swept of your feet by the Christmas ambiance. The smell of spices, roasted almond, mulled wine (Glühwein) and many, many more delicacies will accompany us through the alleys. Also bring some money for all the Holiday handmade decorations sold in hundreds of festive stalls in the Mainz Christmas market next to the city's Cathedral of St. Martin.
Here you will also several concerts and stage events to enjoy, such as the traditional fairy tale production at the State Theatre beloved by generations. Not to miss is also the large illuminated Christmas pyramid, richly decorated with hand-carved life-size crib figurines.
