Meet with our tour guide and driver in the morning, today we will take you to the Taiwan homeland of Hakka people.

Most of the Hakka immigrants moved from the south of China live in Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Miaoli, Liutui of Kaohsiung/Pingtung, and Hualien East Rift Valley. Every year between April and May, the “May Snow" can be seen blooming along Provincial Highway No.3, hence the snow-white blossom of the Tung Tree has also become a symbol of the Hakka people

Our tour starts with a railway ride from “Love Station” Hexing Station to Zhudong Station. Before lunch, we will stop by Zhudong Cultural and Creative Park, an art exhibition location converted from an old staff dormitory. Then we will move to Zhudong Traditional Market, which is regarded as Taiwan’s largest Hakka market. Here you have an opportunity to try 3 Hakka traditional snacks.

Then continue with a walking tour along Beipu Old Street. Situated in the west part of Hsinchu County, Beipu is a Hakka township, where many buildings dated back to Qing dynasty and Japanese Colonial Era are still well preserved: Beipu Citian Temple, Jin Guang Fu House and many more.

The Hakka people are widely known for their unique food culture as well. It’s very refreshing to have a cup of “Lei Tea” after walking tour, a traditional Hakka drink made by grinding pumpkin seeds, peanuts, sesame seeds, tea leaves and other food ingredients softly blended with hot water. Easy-to-make and nutrition-rich makes it an energy drink to the Hakka people.

Taiwan is the "Kingdom of Fruits". Fresh fruits are available all year round. A wonderful day concludes at a local fruit farm. You will pick and bring home fresh seasonal fruits, full of warmth and hospitality of Hakka people.

Your tour ends with return transport to your Taipei hotel in the late afternoon.
