The tour begins at the Karagöz Museum, and the graves of Karagoz and Hacivat. Legend has it that they were two construction workers working on a mosque in Bursa in the mid-14th century who were later immortalised as puppets. We then move on to the Atatürk Museum in the south of Bursa. It is a late-19th century house where he stayed during his thirteen visits to Bursa and is now converted into a museum containing Atatürk’s furniture and personal belongings, documenting his life.

Afterwards, the tour heads to the Uluumay Museum, which houses a much-prized collection of Ottoman folk costumes and jewellery in the beautiful 15th century Sair Ahmet Pasa building. You’ll then have some free time for lunch. After lunch, we visit the Bursa Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts, where you'll discover a selection of paintings, statues, textiles, manuscripts and weaponry. There is also a traditional Turkish bath and coffee house here.

We’ll explore the Bursa City Museum, which celebrates the rich history of the Marmara area and displays works created by local craftsmen over the centuries, ranging from wood carvings to hand-woven rugs. Muradiye Mosque is our last stop on the tour. It was built by Murad II on a hill northeast of the city and it overlooks the palace grounds (Sarayiçi) to the northwest. Originally built as a convent (tekke) for the Mevlevi Order, it was later converted into a mosque.
