In the heart of the Kamnik Alps there is a nice and lovely old town called Kamnik. It is surrounded by the mountains and one of them is Velika Planina that offers a great view on it. It is green and with unique architecture of more than 50 Shepard’s huts. The whole day will be like a jump back in time!

Start from hotel in Portorož and transfer to the foothill of the Velika Planina will take about 2.5 hours of ride. We will take than the funicular to the top of the hill and enjoy the beautiful view and its green pastures. We will proceed the tour visiting the Preskar’s hat museum and after it – only 10 min away we will stop in Kamnik. Here we will take the visit of the city and after some free time for individual activities we will return back to hotel in Portorož.


Time to visit to Kamnik, one of the loveliest and oldest towns in Slovenia which is surrounded by the beautiful Kamnik Alps. First you will visit Velika Planina that will offer you a great aerial view of Kamnik and its surrounding. This mountain plateau with its green pastures and typical and unique architecture of more than 50 Shepard’s huts offers a really nice experience. Later stop in Preskar's hut museum, the only preserved example of a typical oval Velika planina hut in Slovenia, where you will learn more about Sheppard's history in this region. Afternoon will be spent in Kamnik and its medieval city center. A jump back in time is guaranteed!
