Karagöz & Hacivat: first we will visit these two wicked man’s graves to learn their stories. Legend has it they were two construction workers working on a mosque in Bursa sometime in the mid-14th century who were later immortalised as amusing puppets who’s antics have amused audiences since ottoman times.

Turkey's fourth most populous city, Bursa, was Turkey's first most important city and later capital of the Ottoman State between 1335 and 1363; with this tour we will cover many of the city's historical sites and tourist attractions.

Atatürk Museum: on the south side of Bursa is a handsome late 19th century house in which the "Father of modern Turkey" stayed during his thirteen visits to Bursa between 1923 and 1938. Converted to a museum in 1973 it contains furniture and personal effects belonging to Atatürk, documenting his life.


Muradiye Mosque: built by Murad II in 1435 (839 A.H.) on a hill northeast of the city which overlooks the palace grounds (Sarayiçi) to the northwest. . Originally conceived of as a convent (tekke) for the Mevlevi order, the building was later converted into a mosque.


Ulucami (Great Mosque): built in the Selcuk style in 1399, this distinctive mosque has 20 domes and 12 massive pillars.

Grand Bazaar: an old covered bazaar in the Ottoman style specialising in silk for which Bursa has always been famous.
