Program

Day 1:

Arrive Vizag
On arrival at Vizag airport assistance & transfer to hotel (hotel check in/ out time 12pm).
Later city tour of Vizag a port city and industrial center on the Bay of Bengal. Visit Submarine Museum located inside an actual submarine INS Kurusura. The INS Kurusura served the Indian Navy for 31 years before it was decommissioned in 2001. The museum is situated on RK beach, near the War Memorial. The museum has artefacts, pictures and articles that share stories of strength, sacrifice and patriotism of the warriors. Nearby are the elaborate Kali Temple and the Visakha Museum, an old Dutch bungalow housing local maritime and historical exhibits. Kailasagiri a hill top park & one of the best tourist spots in the city for a bird`s eye view of the bay. Victory at Sea War Memorial located on beach road a well maintained monument that generates a sense of patriotism and pride in our countrymen who fight selflessly for the safety of our citizens. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2:

Vizag - Araku Valley (120kms) (B,L,D)
Drive to Araku Valley an enticing hill station & check in at hotel.
Araku Valley, an enticing hill station offers enlivening viewpoints, imposing waterfalls and lush green coffee plantations. Explore the Borra Caves, one of the largest, million year old limestone caves set at an elevation of 705m above the sea level. The marvellous creation of nature was formed when river waters flow through a limestone area, and the calcium carbonate turns into calcium bicarbonate, which is easily washed out by the running water. The most striking feature of the caves is its exquisite variety of speleothems ranging in size. Tribal Museum, that showcase the tribal culture and house utensils, jewellery, hunting tools & wedding photographs of tribal. Coffee Plantations on Ananthagiri Hills. The smell of coffee leaves is spread through the entire valley on miles and miles long coffee plantations in the mesmerizing hills of Ananthagiri. You will find a lot of tribal population working in the coffee plantations. Also visit Waterfalls & Galikonda Viewpoint. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3:

Araku Valley - Jeypore (145kms) (B,L,D)
Drive to Jeypore via Nandapur the ancient capital of Jeypore famous for the throne of 32 steps, believed to be built by the great Vikramaditya. The village is also flanked by some small streams. Towards the northern end of this village, one can find two massive boulders. One of them contains beautiful sculptures and the other has an elephant engraved in it. A little further in the same direction lies the shrine of Lord Sarveswar which too has some inscriptions engraved in it. Seeing these sculptures and inscriptions one can visualize the glorious past of this village. And Kunduli marketplace of the Paraja & Malis Tribal (must be Friday) and few Paraja Tribal Villages. Explore the biggest tribal marketplace Kunduli and get astounded by the Sana Paroja`s and Mali`s tribes of Orissa. They broadly divided into two sections such as Bada Paroja & Sana Paroja. Men usually wear lion cloths, napkins and women wear coarse and cheap sarees. Children up to 3-4 years of age go naked. You can also get souvenirs and mementos from the marketplace. Also visit few Paraja Tribal Villages then drive to Jeypore. check in & overnight at hotel.

Day 4:

Jeypore (B,L,D)
Excursion to Onukuadelli the weekly marketplace of the Bonda Tribe (must be Thursday). Bonda women loves to ornate themselves with silver bands across their neck, strings of colorful beads on their torsos, bangles on their arms and apply castor oils on their hairs. Alcohol is an important ingredient in their social event.
Next head to Lamtaput village occupiend by Gadaba Tribes. Women in this tribe are keen lovers of colorful attires and also love to decorate themselves with various types of traditional jewellery. Bonda women loves to ornate themselves with silver bands across their neck, strings of colorful beads on their torsos, bangles on their arms and apply castor oils on their hairs. Alcohol is an important ingredient in their social event. Drive back to Jeypore for Overnight at hotel.

Day 5:

Jeypore - Jagdalpur (130kms) (B,L,D)
Drive to Jagdalpur enroute enjoy enjoy safari in Kanger Valley National Park, spread over an area of approximately 200 square kilometres consisting mainly of hilly terrain, the park derives its name from the Kanger River, which flows throughout its length. Major wildlife of the Kanger Valley National Park are tigers, leopards, mouse deer, wild cat, chital, sambar, barking deer, jackals, langurs, rhesus macaque, sloth bear, flying squirrel, wild boar, striped hyena, rabbits, pythons, cobra, crocodiles, monitor lizards and snakes. The avian fauna at the park includes hill myna, spotted owlet, red jungle fowl, racket-tailed drongos, peacocks, parrots, steppe eagles, red spurfowl, phakta, bhura teeter, tree pie and heron among many others. The flora in the park consists chiefly of mixed moist deciduous type of forests with predominance of sal, teak and bamboo trees.
After safari drive to Jagdalpur check in at hotel. Evening visit some of the local Bison & Horn Maria tribe, renowned for their spectacular ceremonials dancing. You will be entertained by a performance of the tribal people, before returning to your hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6:

Jagdalpur - Kanker (200kms) (B,L,D)
Visit Bastar Palace, the chief administrative building of the Bastar district built by the kings of Bastar. With wide corridors and a beautiful garden in the front, the palace is home to some of the most beautiful figurines, etchings and drawings on the ceilings and walls. There are many artefacts like ornaments, weapons and clothes turning the palace into a kind of museum. And Anthropological Museum of Jagdalpur, established in 1972 it provide an insight into the culture and lifestyle of the Bastar tribe. The museum has a brilliant and well-curated collection of ethnographic items that shed light on the life of Bastar tribes. Artworks depicting their daily life, sculptures, a variety of objects like clothes, footwear, headgear, ornaments, wood carvings, weapons, utensils and masks among many others can be seen here. It is an excellent window to gain an understanding of the lifestyle of ‘Adivasis’ of Bastar.
Then drive to Kanker via visiting one of the largest Tribal market of Lohandiguda, where all tribal groups gather from South Bastar. Also visit Chitrakote waterfall, the broadest waterfall in India, originates from the Indravati river and popularly known as the Niagara of India, because of its width. Chitrakote Falls is at the height of about 30 metres with a width of 985 feet, and during monsoons, you can watch the falls at its full glory. The fall cascades from the top of the cliff in 3 streams during summers.
Continue drive to Kanker check in & overnight at hotel.

Day 7:

Kanker - Raipur (130kms) (B)
Kanker Palace, situated by the river Doodh and surrounded by dense jungles and extraordinary tribal cultures. It is more of a heritage jewel famed for its unique traditions and a rich tribal history. There are exotic craftworks and artistic handicrafts which are essentially a part of this place`s unique talented artisans.
Visit Gadiya Mountain, a heritage city which dates back to the times when Dharma Dev who is a renowned Kandra King, triumphed over Kanker. He announced this mountain as his main territory as well as the capital. There is a secretive and mysterious cave at this place which was used as a hiding place for the king of Kanker and his family. Jogi cave which is 50 meters in length, is said that Saints used to live and meditate here in old times. The cave could accommodate 500 people. There is tank here which never gets short of water and has its parts named on the two daughters of the king Dharma Dev, Sonai and Rupai are the two parts of the tank.
Later drive to Raipur check in & overnight at hotel.

Day 8:

Raipur - Departure (B)
City tour of Raipur, an emerging industrial centre. Raipur has been in existence since the 9th century the old site and ruins of the fort can be seen in the southern part of the city. Visit the ancient Dudhadhari Math Temple, built in 17th century the temple with beautiful mural work on its walls is dedicated to Lord Rama. Purkhouti Muktangan an open-air museum featuring landscaped grounds, statues and tribal artifacts. Swami Vivekanand Sarovar, built by the Kalchuri Emperor around 1404 AD, fenced by a number of palm trees, the alluring waters of this lake evoke sense of peace and serenity. A 37 feet high statue has been recently installed in a garden close to the lake. Overnight at hotel.
Later as per flight schedule Departure transfer to airport to board flight for onward destination.
