Program

Day 01: Origin/Lisboa
Arrival to Lisbon airport, and pick-up of the car at the Guerin Rent-a-Car desk. Drive to your hotel and check-in… Welcome to Lisboa. All the time you have still available, set to visit the seven hills city… Landmarks such as the Coach Museum, Jeronimos or the Tower of Belém, Alfama and the Castle, Bairro Alto and of course, the nightlife of Lisbon. Accommodation in the hotel.

Day 02: Lisboa/Azeitao/Setubal/Évora
Leave your hotel in Lisbon and drive south. Stop at Azeitão and visit the wine cellars of JMF and don’t miss the chance to taste some of the sweet wine “Moscatel” and the typical cheese. Will be an excellent appetizer. Proceed then to Setubal for lunch. After lunch continues to Evora. A walk around the town is most advisable if you really want to get to know Evora. Don’t miss the bones chapel, the Diana Temple and the Cathedral, the Giraldo square for a relaxing coffee, or the University. Accommodation in the hotel.

Day 03: Évora/Estremoz/Castelo de Vide
Continue up north to Estremoz and a shortstop is requested. Continue then to Portalegre Interesting city of Alentejo, the capital of the district. Proceed then to Castelo de Vide, known as the Sintra of Alentejo. Beautiful town surrounded by the mountain of São Mamede, last refuge of so many Jews that were forced to leave the country. Take a walk around the “judiaria”. Then continue to Marvão. Fantastic medieval walled town, extremely well kept. Return to Castelo de Vide. Accommodation in the Hotel.

Day 04: Castelo de Vide/Tomar/Coimbra
Take the motorway to Tomar. Take then your time to visit the city, and of course the Christ Convent. Then proceed to Coimbra. Known as the city of the students, name given after the University established in 1292, is one of the oldest in the country. Don’t miss the chance to visit the University, Portugal dos Pequeninos, Santa Clara a Velha, etc. Accommodation in the hotel.

Day 05: Coimbra/Mealhada/Porto
Take the morning to see what you didn’t have the chance in Coimbra. Then set up north to Mealhada. We recommend lunch in one of the many typical restaurants, serving the excellent suckling pork. After lunch, proceed to Porto. On arriving, take our tip… go to Cais de Gaia before going into town. Have a drink and admire the landscape. Arrive at your hotel and check-in. Accommodation in the hotel.

Day 06: Porto/Guimaraes/Braga/Porto
Take the day to discover Minho. Start with Guimarães and don’t miss the chance to visit the Gothic quarter, the Dukes of Bragança Palace, the castle… After lunch, continue to Braga, by many still considered to be the religious capital of Portugal. Don’t miss the chance to visit the Cathedral, the old quarters, the Bom Jesus. In the belvedere/shrine of Bom Jesus, we highly recommend you take the funicular. Will be an unforgettable postcard of Braga for sure. Return to Porto and accommodation in the hotel.

Day 07: Porto/Batalha/Nazaré/Obidos
Return to the south, and after around 90 minutes driving you’ll arrive to Batalha. Take your time to visit this fantastic monument, also considered as a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE. Continue to Nazaré, still today a typical fishermen village where you can’t miss to try one of the typical fish dishes that the many restaurants by the sea have to offer. Continue then to Alcobaça. Ancient Cistercian Convent, and also considered as UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE. Continue then to the south and to Óbidos. Medieval walled town, Óbidos will for sure be one of the most beautiful postcards of your holidays. Accommodation in the Hotel in Óbidos.

Day 08: Óbidos/Origin
Time to say “Adeus” …
