A little further away guests will find the Chocolate Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Cuban Ceramics in Calle la Amargura. The hotel is located around 1 km from the Capitolio and some 5 km from the Plaza de la Revolución. The Barrio Vedado can be reached in around 8 minutes’ drive (or 15 minutes by public transport) and the beach at Playa Santa María is around 20 minutes’ drive (or 30 minutes by public transport) from the hotel.

Description

The story goes about this building sheltering the Marquis of Montjoie and the mathematician François Nobion, both of them participants of the commission accompanying the Dukes of Orleans and of Montpensier and the Count of Beaujolais, during their visit to the Island in 1798. Other traces marked the destiny of the building, which became also the residence, during the last months of his life, of the Count of Jaruco and Mopox, the father of the Countess de Merlin. He died in 1807.
