Oia is characterized by its quaint whitewashed houses, adorned with bright pink flashes of bougainvillea, and its picturesque cobblestone alleyways. The village has a great selection of tavernas, cafés, bars and shops. It is in the north of the island, 12km from Fira Town, 18km from Santorini Airport, 22 km from the main port. The nearest beaches are Ammoudi which is a 15 minute walk or Baxedes which is 1.5km away.
