Location

Dating back to the 12th century, historic Tulloch Castle lies on the outskirts of Dingwall with its many shops full of character and its museum in the introspective town centre (roughly 2 km away). The castle's elevated location affords it breathtaking views of the surrounding Highlands. The fast and newly built roads ensure that the castle hotel is a good point of departure for excursions into the remarkable Western Highlands (for example, the bewitching Black Isle), Inverness or Loch Ness (each about 15 km away).

Facilities

3 suites and 16 double rooms are located on 2 storeys and can be reached by lift. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. Beautifully restored Tulloch Castle dates back to the 12th century; Mary Queen of Scots and many other rich and famous guests have stayed in this imposing fortress. Its elevated position proudly guards over the colourful market town of Dingwall just 15 miles north of Inverness, and the views of the surrounding area are magnificent. Many of the ancient castle features still exist including the dungeons and the original mantelpiece with its roaring open fire. One of the Highlands' top chefs skilfully prepares fresh local produce that is served in the exquisite restaurant.
