Program details

We will start the Tour with the pick-up with transportation at the agreed starting point. First, we will stop in Ardales to taste a typical breakfast with Antequera mollete, it is a roll with a very soft crust, oval and flat, it is the most tender and pleasant in the Spanish bakery.

Next, we will visit the Caminito del Rey accompanied by a local guide. El Caminito consists of 7.7 km between footbridges and trails, crossing at the end of the route by a suspension bridge 105 meters high located over the Desfiladero de Los Gaitanes. We will also visit the Ruins of Bobastro, it is a cave complex from the s. IX most important of Malaga.

A few meters from what used to be the fortress are the remains of a Mozarabic cave church, destroyed by Abd al-Rahman III after the definitive capture of the enclave and the defeat of the successors of Omar ibn Hafsún. The existence of a Christian church is explained by the conversion to Christianity of ibn Hafsun, which contributed to his defeat, losing the support of many of his followers. During the Islamic rule of the Iberian Peninsula, the Mozarabs (Christians living in Muslim areas) were prohibited from building new temples. Cave churches are a way to circumvent this prohibition.

You will enjoy free time in Ardales to eat (approximately 1 hour).
