Discover the most important and complete museum in Galicia about the culture of the Galician people. Explore Galicia in one place with the help of a local guide who will explain everything you need to know about your trip to Galicia.

The tour will start right at the entrance of the museum to observe the beautiful convent abandoned after the confiscation and recovered in the 70s to become the Museum and Pantheon of Galician writers.

We will start with the sea room, to get to know the typical Galician boats, how fishing in Galicia worked, navigation, what the coastal towns are like… You will see the well-known Galician “dornas” or shellfish instruments.

From the sea we will continue to the field rooms where we will see the types of traditional crops in Galicia and the instruments that were used for their work, how livestock works, what the Galician rural landscape is like.

We will continue our visit through the hall of trades to now know its people: the dairymen, the itinerant trades, the shoemakers ... did you know that a very typical shoe in Galicia is the clogs?

We continue to a particularly prominent and famous place in the museum, the triple Baroque helical staircase, a unique example of the local Baroque.

After this we will arrive at the baskets and weaving room, which was one of the most important economic activities in Galicia. Who does not know the lace and the “palilleiras” of Camariñas? We will also see a large number of typical traditional costumes of the s. XIX.

Finally, we will delve into the world of folklore in the traditional music halls of bagpipes and tambourines and learn about the typical festivals and traditions that are celebrated in Galicia according to each time of the year.

We will finish by visiting the church of the old convent, a magnificent example of Compostela Gothic and Pantheon of Illustrious Galicians.
