Program details

The incredible floating markets in the Mekong Delta are authentic and lively. Every day, approximately 400 - 500 boats filled with fruits, vegetables and other products anchor along the banks of the river, waiting for traders and customers. The merchandise sold in each boat is hung on a high pole in front of the boat as a sample to attract customers from a distance. You won´t see anything else quite like it as local people trade and bargain vigorously in this fascinating and aesthetic chaos.

Lunch is served at a local house on one of the Islands. Then, you can walk around before tasting different kinds of fruits whilst listening to traditional music.

Next, pedal through the heart of the village and admire the quaint traditional houses made of wood and palm tree leaves. Stop to speak with some local farmers and learn how they make rice paper, coconut candy and pop-rice, and even popcorn! As well as getting a true sense of daily life of the locals, you will visit the brick kilns where you can watch how the locals create beautiful clay potteries.

Continue as you hop back aboard the boat to explore more of the waterways before returning to Ho Chi Minh City later in the afternoon where your tour will come to an end.
