Program details

The National Park at Cañadas del Teide is one place anyone visiting Tenerife should definitely not miss. This 3718m high volcano looms over the whole island. The landscape here is like something from another planet, all rocky ridges, desolate lava fields and rocks of all imaginable hues. We'll also visit the isolated settlements of Masca and Garachico in the unspoilt northwestern corner of the island as well the world famous cliffs of Los Gigantes.

After being picked up from your resort, we'll start the climb through four different climate zones; plantations of semi-tropical fruit give way to fragrant pine and cedar forests before we stop for coffee at Vilaflor, the highest village in Spain. We'll then travel through the Ucanca Valley and the Boca Tauce, stopping at Los Roques de Garcia with stunning views of the summit itself.

Next stop is Masca. Tucked away amidst lush mountain slopes at 700 metres above sea level, this fairytale village consists of a scattering of higgledy piggledy houses perched on a series of volcanic ridges overlooking the wild Atlantic ocean far below. We'll also stop for you to take photos of the settlement of Garachico, once one of the most important ports on the island, before it was partially destroyed by a volcanic eruption. The final stop on this memorable tour are the cliffs at Los Gigantes. Sheer walk walls plunge dramatically 600m into the foaming Atlantic far below.
