At the point where the Rhine and Moselle rivers join as one is a city that has been standing proud for over 2,000 years. Its strategic importance over the centuries make it a fascinating place to discover – full of history and views over the lush green valleys of the Middle Rhine.


Rising 118 metres above Koblenz is the mighty Fortress Ehrenbreistein, Europe’s second largest preserved fortification. Take a cable car ride from “Deutsches Eck” (German Corner) across 850 metres of the Rhine River valley to gain an insight into the history of this monumental building that boldly overlooks the city and confluence of the rivers.


Stroll through the city centre taking in the historic and modern sights, and then set off back to Frankfurt. On the way back, stop at a restaurant that hugs the riverbanks of the Rhine Valley for a dinner that brings the day to a close in romantic style.
