Program details

This fascinating full day panoramic tour of Athens gives you the opportunity to see the striking contrasts that make the Greek capital such an intriguing city. A place where the new and the old collide, Athens is the cosmopolitan, historical and exciting city.

Your guide will take you to see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896. Continue and pass by the presidential residence guarded by the Evzones in their colourful uniforms, the temple of Olympia Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch, the parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library and Syntagma Square.

Visit the National Archaeological Museum which is the largest museum in Greece and one of the world's greatest museums. Although its original purpose was to secure all the finds from the nineteenth century excavations in and around Athens, it gradually became the central National Archaeological Museum and was enriched with finds from all over Greece. Its abundant collections, with more than 20,000 exhibits, provide a panorama of Greek civilization from the beginning of prehistory to late antiquity.

Then you will proceed on the Acropolis site, where you will visit the architectural masterpieces of the golden age of Athens: the Propylea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally the Parthenon. At the end of the tour, you will enjoy some free time in Plaka for shopping, photos and a short walking tour before returning back to your hotel.
