Program details

Enjoy a gastronomic and cultural experience as we travel to the Castelli Romani region and discover beautiful sites such as Castle Gandolfo, summer home of the Pope, the delightful villages of Ariccia and Nemi and relish a delicious lunch of local dishes from the region.

As you leave the city behind and drive through the Alban Hills your first stop will be Castle Gandolfo. This pretty village is a cluster of buildings around the Papal residence and gardens with the most amazing views over Lake Albano. You will have time here to look around the Piazza della Liberta, buy souvenirs and snap some memorable photos. Continue your journey with a visit to Ariccia. Discover the beautiful Church of Santa Maria dell Assunzione, Piazza della Repubblica , Pallazo Chigi and the bridge built to shorten the distance between Albano and Ariccia. By now you will be ready for lunch and, for this, head to Nemi, a pretty village renowned for its delicious wild strawberries. Lunch is served on the terrace at Locanda Lo Specchio di Diana, offering spectacular views over Lake Nemi while you enjoy the local culinary delights, such as Pappardelle , Tagliatelle with Funghi Porcini or Ravioli, followed by tasty local meat dishes and of course wild strawberries for dessert.

Finally the last stop of the day is at the Iacchelli Agrotourism in Velletri. Here you will get the chance to do some bio shopping and stock up on local produce to remember the fabulous flavours you have tasted today.
