Il programma nel dettaglio

First, we drive to Göreme Open air Museum, which is a monastic complex composed of churches, refectories and dwellings and one of the earliest centers for religious education. There are at least 100 churches and chapels in the museum area dating between A.D. 900 and 1200, each one named (after a prominent attribute) by the local villagers. One of the highlights is Karanlik (Dark) Church, which, because it gets very little light from the outside, has some of the best preserved wall paintings with the brightest colours.

After seeing the best preserved murals of Cappadocia we set off for Love Valley. Locals have proudly dubbed the area “Love Valley”. Love Valley is just one of the many treats in store in Cappadocia, a fascinating corner of it. After picturing these unique pinnacles, Red Valley and Mount Erciyes, we drive to Avanos, a town and district that is noted for its Turkish craft skills. Rug-weaving and pottery-making are important local skills. In this little town you witness how the Cappadocian women have been giving life to loops, unravelling silk cocoons, dyeing the wool using natural plants for generations and men still kicking the ancient Hittite kick-wheel in order to shape the red soil which is obtained from the old banks of the longest river in Turkey, the Red River.

Then we have the lunch at a local family's old house, which has been converted into a restaurant. After having one of the specialities of Cappadocia for lunch, we set off for Ozkonak Underground City in search of traces of Hittites. The city was discovered in 1972 and it differs from others in that, there were holes in ceilings above the doors which enabled the citizens to pour hot oil on any unwelcome visitors.

You will see it’s magnificient Valley Scenery Views of Swords Valley, Love Valley, Red Valley. Take great pictures and share with millions. The formation of fairy chimneys continues, clearly as in Red Valley Mountain and Zelve Mountain.
