Depart the hustle and bustle of Reykjavík and travel through the beautiful Borgarfjörður region towards Húsafell. On the way, enjoy a stop at the most powerful hot spring in Europe, Deildartunguhver, with its bubbling waters of 100°c (212 F) which provide a source of heating for nearby towns and villages. before heading to the magnificent Hraunfossar lava waterfalls, a beautiful and unusual natural phenomenon where clear, cold springs of subterranean water seep through the lava fields and run as tiny waterfalls and rapids into the Hvita River.



After a break in Húsafell, we will make our way to the stunning Víðgelmir cave (148000m3), one of the largest natural lava caves in the world. Here, embark on an adventurous guided walk down the great, coloruful and beautiful lava cave. Learn about its history and geological uniqueness which dates all the way back to the Viking age!



Following the cave adventure, and before taking the scenic journey back to Reykjavík, take a well-earned break as you relax at the geothermal pools at Húsafell.
