Trek through the department of Cundinamarca with a full day trip that takes you through the rich diverse land that links Zipacon and Cachipay. Just a short journey away from Bogota, you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city and hike through lush green countryside.



We set off from Bogota early in the morning towards the lovely town of Zipacon. Here you learn about the oldest evidence of agriculture and pottery of the Altiplano Cundiboyacense dating from 1270, before setting off along the disused railroad from the old train station. Along the way, pass by typical vegetable crops, such as peas, beans, chayote and after 30 minutes hiking we walk through an iron tunnel built in 1904. You’ll wind your way through picturesque ancient village roads by creeks, lush vegetation and rich flora and fauna. You’ll have time to take in the scenery and breathe in the clean fresh air before soon arriving into the town of Cachipay.



Throughout the hike, we’ll encounter many interesting monuments and sanctuaries including the Sanctuary of our Lady of Beautiful Love; where single women who are looking for love come to pay homage. Learn about the legend behind the Truth Stone and see a roof made out of guadua (a special plant of the region) in Cachipay. At the end of the tour we’ll make our way back to the hubbub of Bogota, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel in time to enjoy the rest of your evening in this vast city.
