Destination 1: Museum of Anatolian civilizations. Early morning our crew will meet you in the pick-up and give general information about Ankara and our tour today, we will start the tour with visiting museum of Anatolian civilizations, the museum has a number of exhibits of Anatolian archeology. They start with the Paleolithic era, and continue chronologically through the Neolithic, Early Bronze, Assyrian trading colonies, Hittite, Phrygian, Urartian, Greek, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuq and Ottoman periods. They start with the Paleolithic era, and continue chronologically through the Neolithic, Early Bronze, Assyrian trading colonies, Hittite, Phrygian, Urartian, Greek, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuq and Ottoman periods. There is also an extensive collection of artifacts from the excavations at Karain, Çatalhöyük, Hacılar, Canhasan, Beyce Sultan, Alacahöyük, Kültepe, Acemhöyük, Boğazköy (Gordion), Pazarlı, Altıntepe, Adilcevaz and Patnos as well as examples of several periods.


The exhibits of gold, silver, glass, marble and bronze works date back as far as the second half of the first millennium BC. The coin collections, with examples ranging from the first minted money to modern times, represent the museum's rare cultural treasures.


Destination 2: Citadel of Ankara, after visiting the museum, next stop is citadel of Ankara which is a fortification from ancient or medieval era in Ankara. Having been controlled by Romans and Byzantines earlier; it was captured by Seljuq Turks in 1073, by Crusaders in 1101, who gave it back again to the Byzantine and again by Seljuqs in 1227. You can also see many old Ankara traditional house around the citadel


Destination 3: Local Lunch


Destination 4: Augustus Temple, also known as the monumental Ancyranum was built between 25 BC – 20 BC by the Roman Empire. The temple is significant for its Latin and Greek inscriptions which depict the doings of Augustus. The Augustus Temple has survived until our times in considerably good shape. In the early Christian era, the temple was changed into a basilica.


Destination 5: Hacı Bayram Mosque It is located in the Ulus section of Ankara next to the Augustus temple. Originally built in 831 H (1427/28), the mosque as it stands today shows the characteristics of the late 17th century and the 18th century mosques.



Destination 6: Mausoleum of Ataturk, Anıtkabir. Repulic’s founder and leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Anitkabir was built on the hill of Rasattepe and has an impressive entrance. It was completed in 1953. Ataturk was removed from the temporary burial site at the Ethnographic Museum and brought here with great ceremony the same year. İn the complex you can see importance towers for Turkey Republic’s history and the mausoleum itself contains historical things.


Destination 7: Kızılay City walking, Kızılay is a neighborhood in central Ankara, within the Çankaya district, mostly known for its trading and shopping centers. There are also many retail shops and boutiques along the main road. There is a large area of restaurants and bars with outdoor seating, together with a number of popular fish markets and restaurants, as well as an outdoor flower market. After having some free time in Kızılay square, we will end our tour by drop off to hotel.
