Imagine the world as you know it, made entirely out of Lego! The clever folks at the Legoland Discovery Centre have put the pieces together to make many peoples' childhood dream a reality. More three million bricks have gone into the creation of this giant indoor Lego world, a colourful constructors' paradise designed for families with children between three and twelve years old.

The colossal 30,000-square-foot attraction features activities ranging from hands-on Lego playgrounds to life-sized Lego adventures. Acres of Lego's iconic, interlocking bricks guarantee untold hours of family entertainment. Both little and big kids alike can try their hand at numerous Lego challenges, including model building and more unusual construction tests.

Get some tips from the onsite expert modal builder, on hand to demonstrate their creative prowess and offer helpful hints. There's even a Lego Master Builder Academy for ages seven and up who are serious about their Lego building! For a hit of adrenalin hit, dive into the theme park-like attractions on offer such as a Technicycle, Dragon Ride, Adventure Trail and the Bob the Builder 4D cinema, incorporating fantastical Lego creatures and Lego-based special effects.

Grab your powerful laser zapper and take on the bad guys in the Kingdom Quest Laser Ride. Encounter life sized Lego wildlife when you bravely embark on the Jungle Expedition. The Centre offers is great birthday destination for those celebrating their special day in the Windy City. Meeting/pick-up point: Woodfield Mall, 601 N. Martingale Rd., Unit 130 (Intersection of Higgins Road and Martingale Road near Woodfield Mall).
Duration: We recommend that you allow at least 2 1/2 hours to visit the Legoland Discovery Center, but you can stay for as long as you like.
Start/opening time: Monday through Friday attraction opens at 12pm. Saturday and Sunday attraction opens at 10am.
End/closing time: Last admission is at 5pm.
