Explore the road less travelled with a guided donkey safari into the wild. You will you ride through picturesque orange groves and quaint villages as we head towards the Sindi Monastery. Then enjoy traditional Cypriot hospitality at the donkey farm before settling down for some singing and dancing.

We’ll ride along dry river beds into the Cypriot ‘outback’, where you will almost feel like you are travelling back in time, passing old water mills, ancient bridges, crumbling chapels and deserted villages. In the horizon of this rugged and at time barren landscape you will see the remote 13th century Panayia tou Sindi Monastery (dedicated to Our Lady). You can alight from the donkey and wander around the haunting ruins and Orthodox chapel.

An old proverb says that 'a Cypriot donkey is worth more than a rich man's house' and you will see just why thanks to the ease with which the donkey traverses the landscape.

On arrival at the Donkey farm, you will be greeted in true Cypriot style. Sample the local firewater, Zivania, accompanied with halloumi cheese, olives and bread. Later on, tuck into a delicious barbecue and enjoy dancing and music with the friendly and lively staff.

Start/opening time: On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 3pm to 4.30pm.
