Valencia is one of the most important homes of bullfighting and in this guided tour to the city’s Bull Ring and Bullfighting Museum you'll learn all about this noble art and its history in the city. You’ll visit the arena itself, as well the stables and the Bullfighting Museum where you can admire the massive collection of bullfighter's suits and capes as well as posters and a large number of paintings, dating back to the 18th Century.

This famous bullring dates back to 1859 and is one of the city’s most famous landmarks, located in Carrer Xativa in the city centre. It was built in the neo-classical style, inspired by the Roman Coliseum and the Amphitheatre at Nimes as is one of the largest bullrings in Spain. We’ll enter the Arena through the main gate and you won’t fail to be impressed by the sensation of vast open space. We’ll then tour the stables, the bullfighters’ refuge, the stands and the poignant Bullfighters' Chapel, where you can see the numerous votive offerings left by the matadors.

The bullfighting museum is one of the most important of its kind in the world with an extensive collection of bullfighting prints, paintings and memorabilia, offering a detailed tour of the evolution of bullfighting in Valencia from the eighteenth to the twenty-first century. After this tour you will gain a greater understanding of this tradition and the three protagonists of the festival; the audience, the bull and the matador.
