Il programma nel dettaglio

Travel back to the Renaissance with this tour of two of Moravia's most beautiful cities. Both Telc and Trebic are a treasure trove of historic buildings, districts and monuments. Telc is known as the Venice of Moravia due to its numerous canals, rivers and lakes while Trebic is renowned for its Jewish heritage. Both these fairytale towns are Unesco World Heritage Sites.

Admire Telc castle, which combines Gothic, Renaissance and baroque elements, and stroll through the gorgeous town square with its beautiful, multicoloured gabled façades. During the summer season you will be able to explore the different rooms and exhibitions that are hidden inside. The picturesque square is a truly dreamlike space that would move more than one artist to put the brush to the canvas; it is made up of 71 houses that date back five centuries and were later adorned by renowned Italian artists. Each one is a work of art.

Continue to Trebic to visit Jewish Quarter, its 120 homes huddled together as a silent reminder to a world that is no more. Trebic was a prominent centre for Jewish culture, and the legacy of that age lives on in building such as the rabbinate, the poorhouse and the synagogue, which you can enter during the summer season. Perhaps the part of the district that most loudly speaks of the past is the stillness of the 3,000 tombs that fill the Jewish cemetery. Trebic is also home to an awe-inspiring Romanesque basilica, which stands proudly by the banks of the River Jihlava. You will leave Telc and Trebic feeling like you've stepped out of a historic novel set in long-forgotten Mitteleuropa.
