Discover the charming city of Chartres and its magnificent cathedral. Enjoy soaking up the atmosphere of this fine example of Gothic architecture with a guided tour through the cathedral. Take your time to observe the miracle of the almost perfectly preserved medieval stained glass windows.

After a delicious lunch, let your guide enlighten you about Chartres fascinating history during a walking tour of the town. Visit the St Andrew collegiate church now used as a cultural centre. Find out more about stained glass at the International Stained Glass Centre, familiarize yourself with the work of both contemporary and medieval artists and see the relics of La Porte Guillaume, a gateway flanked by towers, the 14th century remains of ancient fortifications.

Take advantage of your free time for some more sightseeing around the narrow streets of the old town which has a handful of interesting medieval and Renaissance houses. Visit the town hall which houses a museum and a library, or shop for souvenirs in some of the delightful local establishments.Meeting/pick-up point: Pick-up from hotels in the Paris 75 postcode area at about 8am, with return from about 5pm.
