Explore Madrid in the tastiest way possible; working your way around the city on a culinary journey of its thriving tapas scene. From Madrid’s oldest taverns to its hippest modern hideouts, you will see and taste a slice of authentic Madrileña culture. Sampling the wide variety of tapas available in the city is the ideal way to taste the whole spectrum of cultures and flavours that come together in Madrid and what’s more, at the same time you will visit some of the city’s most interesting and historic sites.


Begin your tour at a popular food market right in the centre of the city. This is the perfect place to get acquainted with the rich and diverse Spanish food scene and your guide will give you an introduction to the jewel in the crown, tapas. Learn about the history of this tasty cuisine over some of the most typical tapas dishes you will find all over the city and country as a whole.


Continue your tapas adventure in Madrid and head onwards to a little tavern that first opened back in 1867. Here you will be introduced to the finest local produce that has been served to the public for the past 150 years. Proceed to Madrid’s Literary District where writers and poets such as Cervantes and Lorca used to write, drink and of course eat. Then proceed to sample the tastes of Southern Spain at an Andalusian tavern before heading to the multicultural neighbourhood of Lavapies for your final bite of the day at one of the oldest taverns in Spain. You’ll leave this tour as a tapas expert and you won’t have to walk far to carry on putting your newfound expertise to good use!
