This cycle tour of Uzbekistan is an excellent opportunity for those who love non-standard cycling routes to test their strength in the heat of the Central Asian summer, amidst rocks and sands. The itinerary of bike travel runs through the unique sceneries of the Nurata Mountains, which are contrastingly bordered by the hot Kyzylkum desert on the north and the fertile Zeravshan Valley on the south.

The bike riders will enjoy the marvellous landscapes and bright colours of the deserts, semi-deserts and steep mountain slopes. One of the most impressive things the travellers will discover on their way is the Aydar Lake, whose water extends for hundreds of kilometres in the heart of the Kyzylkum desert.

Excursions to Bukhara and Samarkand, probably, the two most famous cities on the Great Silk Road will be a nice continuation of the adventure cycling in Uzbekistan and will feature ancient oriental architecture, the amazing Uzbek cuisine and sincere hospitality offered by the locals.

Day 1:

Arrival in Tashkent.

Day 2:

Transfer Tashkent - Jizzakh (201 km, 2h 40 min).
Lunch at the teahouse. Transfer to the village of Sentyab to the starting point of the cycle route (120 km, 2 hours). Before you start: tea, light snack. The beginning of the route. Ascent to the Sop pass (1,707 m) - Camp 1 (1130 m).
Road: dirt road, asphalt.
Height difference: + 599m

Overnight at tent camp 1, Transfer Tashkent - Jizzakh (201 km, 2h 40 min).
Lunch at the teahouse. Transfer to the village of Sentyab to the starting point of the cycle route (120 km, 2 hours). Before you start: tea, light snack. The beginning of the route. Ascent to the Sop pass (1,707 m) - Camp 1 (1130 m).

Sightseeing program in Samarkand at 10:00 AM: the most impressive square in the entire Central Asia - the Registan Square (Ulugbek Madrasah, Sher-Dor Madrasah, Tilya-Kori Madrasah), Gur-e Amir mausoleum - necropolis of the Timurids.
After lunch continuation of sightseeing program in Samarkand: Bibi-Khanym mosque, architectural ensemble Shah-i-Zinda, Ulugbek observatory. Overnight at the hotel., Samarkand.
Breakfast at the hotel.

After lunch sightseeing program in Bukhara: Lyab-i Hauz Architectural Ensemble, Kukeldash Madrasah, Nadir Divan-Begi Madrasah, domed shopping arcade. Visiting a showroom of Bukhara golden-embroidered factory and Karakul dressing (astrakhan fur) workshop.
