The day at the beach is closer than you think!
The highway takes us from Zagreb to
Opatija. The city name cames from the Abbey of Saint Jacob (opatija means “abbey” in Croatian), also known by the name of “Adriatic Nice”, “Pearl of Adriatic” and “Vienna on the sea”.
After a walk in this enchanting town, we continue the tour
up the mountain to enjoy a beautiful view of the Adriatic in a small medieval town of Kastav.
The town of Kastav and the whole Kastav region are plain historical, geographical, architectural and tourist facts. Situated, as one poet said “ponad mora, kano soko” (“above the sea, like a hawk”), so similar and yet so different from other towns in this region, with its soul in a nest made of stone, it is large enough for everyone willing to experience it in its wholeness.
Kastav gives something to everyone and at the same time receives something in return.
