Lipa cave – Cetinje (Old Royal Capital) – Njeguši village - Lovćen – Njegoš’s Mausoleum
Lipa cave, which is on the list of top 10 attractions in Montenegro, is located only sixty kilometers from the cities of Boka Kotorska and five kilometers from Cetinje – the Old Royal capital of Montenegro. It is the first cave attraction in Montenegro that offers a charming variety of karst features to provide visitors with a unique experience of the underground world. The wild beauty of this cave leaves a lasting impression and makes the visit unforgettable.
Cetinje is a small city museum with beautiful monuments, promenades and nature, situated under the huge mountain Lovćen. Cetinje is the former capital of Montenegro. It was founded in the 15th century and became the center of Montenegrin life and its culture. This small city, enriched with the greenery and architecture of the 18th and 19th centuries will surely draw your attention at first glance, through a rare combination of nature and culture, museums, art faculties, parks, promenades.
Don’t miss an opportunity to taste traditional products in the most famous Montenegrin village Njeguši, from where comes Petrović dynasty, which ruled for 300 years in Montenegro.
Lovćen is the symbol of Montenegro and its freedom. The mountain is located at 1749 m above sea level, and in 1952, it was declared a national park. On one of the peaks of Lovćen, Jezerski vrh – 1675 m above sea level, there is a Mausoleum, dedicated to Petar II Petrović Njegoš bishop, ruler, thinker and poet, one of the most important figures of Montenegrin history. Lovćen is special in many ways. It is rightly said that Lovćen is a natural treasure of Montenegro.





Itinerary:
• Departure by appointment. Driving towards Lipa cave – 45 min to 2 hours (depending on the place/city of your accommodation).
• Arrival. Tourist train riding from the parking to the entrance into the cave (800 meters) – approx. 20 minutes in both directions.
• Cave passage with a licensed tourist guide – approx. 40 min.
• Driving towards Cetinje – approx. 10 minutes.
• Old Royal Capital sightseeing: Cetinje Monastery, Ćipuri church, the former Njegoš’s residence – Biljarda, King Nikola’s museum, the Presidential Palace (duration approx. 1h).
• Driving towards Njeguši – approx. 30 minutes.
• Food tasting in the village of Njeguši – in the oldest tavern of this type in Montenegro – since 1881 – approx. 1 h.
• Continuing drive to Lovćen – approx. 30 minutes.
• Visit to the Njegoš’s mausoleum (451 steps to the top) – approx. 1 h.
• Lunch at the famous restaurant – optional.
• Return. The end of the tour.
