Enjoy an evening of Ecuadorian folk dance at Quito’s National Theatre choreographed by Rafael Camino representing the customs and traditions of the indigenous cultures of Ecuador. The tour includes all transfers to and from the hotel as well as admission.

The Jacchigua was originally an agricultural festival given by local landowners after the harvest had been collected. The estate’s workers would enjoy a day of festivities together with the landlord and his family accompanied by plenty of food and drink, music and dancing.

The Jacchigua today is an Ecuadorian cultural institution designed to keep the cultural and human heritage of the indigenous people of this Andean nation alive. Jacchigua is life with dignity, colourful ponchos, shawls and necklaces and blouses, embroidered with blood and sweat and tears of sadness and joy. Jacchigua is the soul of Ecuador embodying the deep sensitivity, pain and loss of a dispossessed people.

Enjoy three hours of show-stopping entertainment with over 90 talented musicians and dancers on stage demonstrating ancestral traditions and customs from several Andean regions of Ecuador. You’ll be enthralled by the colourful costumes as you learn all about this country’s fascinating traditional culture through beautifully choreographed dance numbers and vibrant music.
