Day 1: SOUTH OF BALI - SIDEMEN (L)
At 8.30 am, depart for Sidemen. On the way, we'll stop at Batubalan village to see the famous Barong dance, a classic Balinese way of acting out mythology by pantomime dance. Barong Dance symbolizes the eternal fight between good and evil spirits. Then, we'll proceed to KlungKung village to visit the incredible painted ceilings of the old Klungkung's palace of justice “Kertagosa”. We'll have the chance to admire the ancient frescos that show a variety of the old methods of punishment. The next visit will be at Besakih Temple, also known as the "mother temple", the greatest and most revered temple of Bali positioned at 1.000m above sea level, on the foot of the volcano Agung. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant en route. Upon arrival in Sidemen, we'll check-into the hotel. Overnight in Sidemen (Surya Shanti Villa).
Day 2: SIDEMEN - TEMBOK (B/L)
After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for Tembok, with a stop en route at the Goa Lawah Temple, also known as the "bat cave", a natural cave dwelt by thousands of bats; we will also visit a nearby salt farm near the sea. From there, we will proceed to Tenganan village, one of the oldest Balinese villages situated at the foothills of majestic Mount Agung. This village is home to the "Bali Aga", the original Balinese tribe and it is well known for its hereditary traditions, the mysteriously well-kept secret behind the village walls for hundreds of years. We will then visit Tirtagangga with its lovely beautiful water palace. We'll have lunch en route at a local restaurant. Upon arrival in Tembok, we will check-into the hotel. Overnight in Tembok.
Day 3: TEMBOK - UBUD (B/L)
After breakfast, we'll depart for Ubud. After passing by Kintamani, with the view of Mount and Lake Batur, we will proceed to Tampak Siring district to visit the Holy spring of Pura Tirta Empul famous for its holy water, where Hindu Bali people go for purification and the Pura Gunung Kawi temple, Bali's oldest Hindu Temple complex: 200 steps down the canyon give access to this temple. It is an 11th-century and comprises 10 rock-cut shrines that are carved into some 7-meter-high (23 ft) sheltered niches of the sheer cliff face. Local tales say it has been carved into the rocks by a giant with his fingernails in one night while he stayed down there. Before we arrive in Ubud, we'll stop at the Tegalalang, the famous rice terraces of the island. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. The afternoon will be free for shopping and exploring its amazing traditional art market. We will check-in at the hotel. Overnight in Ubud.
Day 4: UBUD – DENPASAR AIRPORT OR HOTEL (B)
After breakfast, we will start our journey to the south of Bali. Visits en route will include the Mengwi Temple (also known as the "beautiful garden"), Alas Keraton (the monkey forest) and Tanah Lot (the "temple on the rock"). After lunch at a local restaurant, we will return to the hotel in the south of Bali or we will go to the airport.
