Program

Day 01: Origin/Lisboa
Arrival to Lisbon airport, and pick-up of the car at the Guerin Rent-a-Car desk. Drive to your hotel and check-in… Welcome to Lisboa. All the time you have still available, set to visit the seven hills city… Landmarks such as the Coach Museum, Jeronimos or the Tower of Belém, Alfama and the Castle, Bairro Alto and of course, the nightlife of Lisbon. Accommodation in the hotel.

Day 02: Lisboa/Cascais/Sintra/Óbidos
Drive along the river to discover the Lisbon Coast. A nice and relaxing drive all the way to Sintra. Then the unforgettable Sintra, immortalized by Lord Byron who called her the “Glorious Garden of Eden”. After lunch, proceed by Ericeira. Take a walk in this fishermen village before continuing to Óbidos. Medieval walled town, Óbidos will for sure be one of the most beautiful postcards of your holidays. Accommodation in the hotel.

Day 03: Óbidos/Alcobaça/Nazaré/Coimbra
Around or on the vicinity of Óbidos you’ll have a great day, discovering what the Portuguese call as the WEST. First stop should be Alcobaça. Ancient Cistercian Convent. There is still time to visit Batalha and the fantastic monastery before lunch. Continue then to Nazaré still today a typical fishermen village where you can’t miss to try one of the typical fish dishes that the many restaurants by the sea have to offer. After lunch drive to the near city of Coimbra. Known as the city of the students, name given after the University that is one of the oldest in the country. Don’t miss the chance to visit Portugal dos Pequeninos, the Santa Clara a Velha etc. Accommodation in the hotel.

Day 04: Coimbra/Aveiro/Guimarães/Braga
Drive to Aveiro, a little city that has an individual character due to the ria and his canals, where salt is produced. Afterwards drive up north, to Guimarães, UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE and enjoy a stroll around the Gothic quarter, the castle and the Dukes of Bragança Palace. Have lunch in town and after a relaxing time in Guimarães set to Braga, where will surely be worthwhile, spending your time in the old quarters and finish with a relaxing coffee in Bom Jesus. Accommodation in the hotel.

Day 05: Braga/Barcelos/Viana do Castelo/Ponte de Lima/Porto
Time to visit the region of Minho. Drive directly to Barcelos, a small city overlooking the river Cávado that is famous for its pottery and ceramics, especially the traditional Barcelos cock which became a Portuguese national symbol. Drive to Viana do Castelo and do not miss the chance to visit the centre of town and of course, the belvedere Santa Luzia. Continue to Ponte de Lima and walk around the centre… will surely impress for the simplicity and the way it’s kept. Then drive to Oporto. Accommodation in the hotel.

Day 06: Porto/Luso/Buçaco/Tomar
Visit the second most important city in the country, and financial capital of Portugal. We suggest that you have lunch in Gaia, in Cais de Gaia. From here the perspective over Porto is fascinating. Great postcard after coming from Porto. On the afternoon, visit Luso: situated on the western slope of the Buçaco mountain, a zone of great natural beauty, the Luso Thermal Spa is an ideal site to relax amid verdant and exuberant scenery. Drive to Buçaco – part ancient woodland, part arboretum, the National Forest of Buçaco is a magic place. Do not miss the chance to visit also the Buçaco Palace Hotel – a Neo-Manueline folly of hunting lodge. Afterwards, continue to Tomar, our last stop and visit the Christ Convent. Accommodation in the hotel.

Day 07: Tomar/Fátima/Santarém/Lisboa
In the morning drive to the Fátima – a devotional shrine built on a prodigious scale. Before arriving in Lisbon, there is still time for a final stop at Santarém, the capital of Ribatejo, overlooking the Tagus, to visit some of the several churches and the Jardim das Portas do Sol. Accommodation in the Hotel.

Day 08: Lisboa/Origin
Time to say “Adeus” …
