Program

Day 01: Origin/Lisboa
Arrival in the Lisbon airport, and pick-up of the car at the Guerin Rent-a-Car desk.
Drive to your hotel and check-in… Welcome to Lisboa. All the time you have still available, set to visit the seven hills city… Landmarks such as the Coach Museum, Jeronimos or the Tower of Belém, Alfama and the Castle, Bairro Alto and of course, the nightlife of Lisbon.
Accommodation in the hotel.

Day 02: Lisboa/Évora/Estremoz/Vila Viçosa
Leave Lisbon and take the motorway to Évora. The museum city, as it is known, is considered by UNESCO as WORLD HERITAGE SITE. After lunch, and Évora has so many great places to offer, continue to Estremoz and visit this typical little Alentejo town. Proceed then to the Pousada in Vila Viçosa. Accommodation in the Pousada.

Day 03: Elvas/Portalegre/Marvão
Continue up north to Portalegre. Interesting city of Alentejo, capital of the district. Proceed then to Castelo de Vide, known as the Sintra of Alentejo. Beautiful town surrounded by the mountain of São Mamede, last refuge of so many Jews that were forced to leave the country. Take a walk around the “judiaria”. Then continue to Marvão. The fantastic medieval walled town, extremely well kept. The Pousada is inside the walls. Accommodation in the Pousada.

Day 04: Marvão / Idanha / Belmonte or Manteigas (according to availability)
Leave Marvão behind, for how hard it will be, and continue up north to Castelo Branco. Have a stroll around the centre and don’t miss the garden of this cozy city. Continue to Idanha and let yourself be surprised by the beauty and simplicity of this town. The last stop will be Belmonte, a medieval Jewish town and also the birthplace of Pedro Álvares Cabral, the Portuguese navigator who discovered Brazil in 1500. In case Pousada de Belmonte isn’t available the overnight will be made in Manteigas, located in the heart of Serra da Estrela, the highest point of Portugal, the highlights are the breath-taking views and fresh air. Accommodation in the Pousada.

Day 05: Belmonte or Manteigas/Covilhã/Condeixa
Leaving Belmonte, you should set to the Star Mountain. The highest mountain in the country with 2000 mts (not much, but still the highest!). Visit Covilhã, where we recommend you have lunch. Continue then to Condeixa. Accommodation in the Pousada de Condeixa.

Day 06: Condeixa/Coimbra/Ourém
In the morning drive to the near city of Coimbra. Known as the city of the students, the name given after the University established in 1292, is one of the oldest in the country. Don’t miss the chance to visit the University, Portugal dos Pequeninos, Santa Clara a Velha, etc. After lunch, continue to Ourém. Accommodation in the Pousada de Ourém.

Day 07: Ourém/Nazaré/Obidos/Lisboa
Take your time to visit this fantastic monument in Batalha, also considered as a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE. Continue to Nazaré, still today a typical fishermen village where you can’t miss to try one of the typical fish dishes that the many restaurants by the sea have to offer. Continue then to Alcobaça. Ancient Cistercian Convent, and considered as UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE. Continue then to the south and to Óbidos. Medieval walled town, Óbidos will for sure be one of the most beautiful postcards of your holidays. Proceed then back to Lisbon. Accommodation in the hotel.

Day 08 Lisboa/Origin
Time to say “Adeus” …
