Description
Established in 1818, Hiiragiya is reputably one of the most beloved of all the Japanese traditional inns. Under the ownership of the same family for 5 generations, Hiiragiya has played host to internationally famous writers, artists, politicians, scientists and members of the imperial family. Yasunari Kawabata, a Nobel laureate, considered Hiiragiya as his home away from home.
