A 100-year old traditional townhouse renovated as a guest house, Waraku-An is a 6-minute walk from Jingu-Maruta Train Station and offers a beautiful Japanese garden. Rooms have Japanese-style futon bedding, shared showers and tatami (woven-straw) flooring.

Guests can choose between a private room and dormitory-style accommodation. All rooms are air-conditioned, have shared toilets and include simple Japanese furnishings and paper lamps. Showers are open 24/7, and towels must be rented. Free body soap and shampoo are provided.

The common area at Guest House Waraku-An has free Wi-Fi, a shared-use fridge, free tea and a free-use internet PC. Luggage can be left at the reception, which also sells 1-day Kyoto city bus passes.

Just a 1-minute walk from Kumano Jinja bus stop, the property is a 10-minute walk to Heian Shrine and a 15-minute walk to Nanzen Temple. Kinkai Komyo Temple is a 13-minute walk away. Rental bicycles offer an excellent way to explore Kyoto.
