Program details

Departure from Bangkok early in the morning towards Petchaburi, an ancient city located about 130 km from the capital. Upon arrival, we visit Tham Khao Luang, a spectacular cave that encloses a chedi and an image of the reclining Buddha, particularly suggestive in the morning when the sunlight enters from above through a crack in the cave roof. The descent into the cave is rather slippery due to the accumulated mud, so it is not recommended
for elderly visitors. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Visit Phra Nakorn Kiri Historical Park, located on the 95 meters hill known as Khao Wang. This is the pride and symbol of the city. It was built under the royal command of King Rama IV to become his summer palace and works were finished in 1860. A small cable car leads to the top. The whole complex is made up of halls, palaces, temples and other royal buildings, elegantly built in a mix of Thai and European architecture. Visit the royal family's private temples: Wat Phra Kaew, a replica of the homonymous temple at the Royal Palace in Bangkok, and Phra That Jompetch, a 40-meter tall white pagoda that encloses
a Buddha relic. Visitors should be careful with the dozens of monkeys that populate the hill, known to snatch food from visitors' bags. Return to Bangkok in the afternoon.
