Espiritu Santo Island is the closest to the Bay of La Paz, just 33 km away, formed by two main islands "Espiritu Santo" and "La Partida" and three smaller ones "El Gallo", "La Gallina", and "Los Islotes" wich cover an approximately surface area of 100 km2, where the reddish color of its stone, the turquoise color of the sea and the the beautiful golden sunsets, do an admirable stage.

The biodiversity of this island is stunning; there have been recorded 32 species of reptiles, 98 species of birds, 16 endemic species, plus a colony of about 350 sea lions that can be observed around its shores. Declared Natural Protected Area in 1978 and Biosphere Reserve in 1995, the region has more than a thousand plant and animal species; 64 of which are officially protected.
