Program details

Feel inspired by traditional Dutch culture as you explore the countryside.

The first stop on this interesting day will find you in Zaanse Schans, a traditional village located on the banks of the Zaan River. Admire its huge windmills, which date back to the 17th century before heading to Volendam, a quaint fishing village boasting colorful wooden houses, and charming alleyways. Look out for locals wearing traditional dress. Here, visit a cheese factory and stroll along the famous dike along the harbour.

Just a stone's throw from Volendam, is Marken, another idyllic town that you will have the pleasure to explore. Appreciate the architecture, the houses, the manicured gardens and canals, and pique your interests with a visit to a clog maker, and learn how these famous wooden shoes are made.

Finally, embark on the second part of the tour: Keukenhof Gardens, a charming gem, renowned for its amazing variety of flowers. Meander the pathways of these gardens, and discover glistening streams, pretty ponds, and probably the largest number of flowers that you have ever seen together! Keep your camera close at hand to capture the beauty of these flowers and a variety of ancient shrubs and trees, amongst other natural marvels.
