Program details

Journey to the heart of Mendoza´s wine country and learn about traditional winemaking techniques as you tour two of the region´s prestigious wineries. Discover local wines with expert-led wine tasting and learn the art of producing, corking and serving wine.

Wine is one of Argentina's most sought-after products, and you can go straight to the heart of its wine country on this half-day wine-tasting tour.

You´ll travel approximately 60 miles (100km) from the city of Mendoza into the regions of Lujan de Cuyo and Maipu. Within the foothills of the Andes, the Uco Valley provides the highest altitudes at which wines are produced in the province of Mendoza.

During the tour, you'll learn how this dry area became a wine-growing oasis with irrigation techniques that capture the snow melt runoff from the Andes Mountains. Originally created by the indigenous Huarpes people, this system is now run by computerized drip irrigation, which allows Argentina to be one of the top wine-producing countries in the world.

You'll visit two wineries and enjoy a wine-tasting session, during which you'll become familiar with the local wines. Your English- and Spanish-speaking guide will explain the technique of wine tasting, wine production, the importance of the cork in the bottle and the correct way to handle the glass.

A relaxing day in Mendoza wine country is an unforgettable experience for your senses.
