Program details

Your introduction to Poznań begins in the chocolate-box Old Market Square, with its 16th-century town hall and colourful merchant townhouses. We’ll talk a little about the origins of the city as we stroll over to take a closer look at the Bamberg Woman Statue, where we’ll explain more about the dialect spoken in the region, giving you a quick and handy language course to help you during your stay. Next, we’ll discover the charming little streets that belong to the Old Town and visit the Parish Church to find out why its designers were forced to cheat people. Our first foodie stop will be at a café situated in the most beautiful courtyard in the Old Town. We’ll take our time, drinking a tea or coffee and have a taste of the iconic Saint Martin Croissant. The unmissable Billy Goats show is up next, where crowds come to gather at noon each day to see the animals butt heads as the Town Hall clock strikes 12. After soaking up the delights of the Old Town, we’ll head down Półwiejska Street to marvel at another splendid site, Stary Browar. This building, which was once a huge brewery, became a ruin and is now reborn as a shopping mall, modern art gallery, hotel and offices complex. Then we’ll take a short stroll over to the Imperial District and introduce you to Mickiewicz Square. Home to a striking Imperial Castle and the 1956 Memorial which commemorates the first anticommunist uprisings in Poland. We’ll also spot the University and the neoclassical Opera House. After all that sightseeing, you’ll have worked up a healthy appetite, so next up, we’re going to take you for an authentic lunch in our favourite hipster district, at a restaurant that’s currently serving up some of the best modern Polish cuisine in the city. As we eat, we’ll talk more about the city and why it’s so unique, getting to know each other over a drink and a delicious meal. Your tour ends here, 200 metres from the nearest tram stop and approximately 20 minutes' walk from the Old Market Square. Before you go, don’t forget to ask your guide for more tips on what else to see, do and eat during your stay in Poznań.
