Program details

In this city, we can learn all about the fascinating story of Frederick II, otherwise known as Frederick “the Great.” This ruler was a passionate lover of the arts and culture, and thus he made great efforts to beautify the city of Potsdam with manifold palaces and gardens, some of which seem to belong among the pages of a fairy tale. Potsdam’s more recent history is equally as interesting and you will discover this in more depth throughout the tour.

Visit the area of the Old Market Square, dominated by the green dome of St. Nikolai Church. In this historic square, you will encounter numerous buildings of interest such as the Potsdam Film Museum, a beautiful building surrounded by some of the oldest monuments in the city. The next stop is the New Market Square, one of the best preserved Baroque squares in Europe and is also located in the historic center of Potsdam. From here you will continue on to the Kabinetthaus building, Union Square, the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, and the Soviet memorial cemetery. Delve deep into the Dutch Quarter and explore the marvelous Sanssouci, as well as a handful of other breathtaking palaces. All of these regal constructions were residences of the Hohenzollern dynasty in days long gone.

This trip invites you to enjoy a pleasant walk - the perfect way to spend a day outdoors and discover a little more of the amazing German culture, history, and traditions. You have the option of visiting the places by public transport, mingling with the locals, or the more luxurious option of private transport. Either way, the day is fantastic.
