Once the ancient city of Smyrna, a famous trading port, this is now a modern, commercial city with a Mediterranean Europe feel. During the tour we will visit the Izmir Museum of History and Art, located in Kültürpark (also known as the International Fair Park), the Roman site of the Agora, the commercial, political and religious centre of the town in ancient times and the famous Asansör (meaning elevator), constructed in 1907 in order to provide local residents with easier access to the mansions located on top of the hill.

After enjoying an à la carte lunch, the tour continues to the Clock Tower, the iconic symbol of the town, before entering the historical market of Kemeralti and the Hisar Mosque, the oldest and one of the most significant Ottoman landmarks of the town. To make the experience even more authentic, we will then enjoy a Turkish coffee in a traditional caravanserai.





Meeting/pick-up point: Pick-up at the hotel.

Duration: 10 hours approx.

Start/opening time: 08:30am.

End/closing time: 6pm.

Others: The tour includes transfers, transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle, à la carte lunch and all entrance fees, service charges and taxes. Any personal expenses and drinks during lunch are not included.
Please note that museums are closed on Mondays. In the event of any museum closures, an alternative will be offered. The itinerary involves a good deal of walking, so comfortable footwear is recommended.
