Prepare for a hike you will never forget: five hours of steep trail hiking to see some of the most gorgeous vantage points in Costa Rica. Your adventure begins the moment you are picked up from your hotel and taken away from La Fortuna and all the way around the staggering Arenal Volcano, one of the most active volcanoes of Costa Rica. Here you will set off on a hike towards the peak of Chato Hill through a tightly-packed primary forest, a walk filled with wonderful views and countless species of local flora that will capture your imagination. Once at the summit, continue to check out the mesmerising lagoon that sits on top, the perfect stop for taking spectacular photos of the surroundings.

Afterwards comes the descent, always easier than the climb, but no less beautiful. Trudge through an equally dense forest while enjoying some privileged views of the San Carlos Lowlands as well as the ever-present grey bulk of the Arenal Volcano. Along the way, you will be able to learn all about the region's birds, plants, animals, insects and gigantic trees. Indeed, freedom will have never felt so close at hand.
